I have tried kanafa (kunafa, kinafeh, kanafeh) in Beirut and this truly is the best replica available in the United States. The kaak (bread) that it comes served in just as delicious — topped with sesame seeds and a crunchy shell, it is the perfect accompaniment to the Lebanese kanafa. There are a few places in Chicago that make a good shot at creating this delicacy, but they do not come close to the experience Lebon Sweets offers.
